What is the Youth Mobility Scheme (YMS)?
The Youth Mobility Scheme (YMS) is a visa that allows citizens of certain countries, to work and study in the UK for up to 2 years.
You can apply for a Youth Mobility Scheme visa if you:
- want to live and work in the UK for up to 2 years
- are aged 18 to 30 or 18 to 35, depending on where you’re from
- have £2,530 in savings

What is the hospitality work placement programme?
In collaboration with Professionals UK, students will undertake placements in the hospitality sector alongside an educational programme delivered by Malvern House. The aim of this programme is to prepare students for full time work. The placements are paid at or above the national minimum wage and responsibilities will depend on the student’s level of previous experience and availability.
Typical positions include but are not limited to:
- Food and beverage
- Kitchen porter
- Reception
- Housekeeping
- Chef
- General assistant
- Marketing and events
Hotel placements include:
- Marriott
- Aloft
- Sheraton
- Crown Plaza
- Roseate
To undertake the work placement programme, students must have a minimum of B2 Level English. Therefore, we suggest a minimum course of study of 2 months at Malvern House before proceeding with the placement.
