Staff Interview : Lucia Cordero

Staff interview with one our newest members of staff: Lucia Cordero. Communicate School Student Services Officer

Why did you choose a career in a language school?

I love working in multicultural and multilinguistic environments because I can learn about different cultures. It’s also a sector where you can progress and use different skills on a daily basis.

What’s the best thing about your job?

The best things at my job at Communicate are; the nice team I am working with and to be able to help our international students to achieve their language goals

What were you like at school?

I was a good student, very keen and willing to learn new things every day. My favourite subjects were history, art and languages; however, I wasn’t good at Maths or Economics. I was also involved in sports like tennis and rowing.

What do you like to do outside of work?

At weekends I love to escape from the city and go hiking, exploring nature. During the week I love going to ‘meet ups’ and language exchanges to meet international people. I’m also an avid reader and I love cooking different types of food, I’m learning to bake proper cakes at the moment.

Who is your role model & why?

I don’t have a role model as such, but I admire my father for his strong determination and will to achieve personal and professional goals.

How would your best friend describe you?

Curious, open minded and a language lover.

What would your autobiography be called?

Lucia globetrotter
