First Certificate – exam success!
10/05/2016Exam Success!
The March results for the Cambridge: First exam came out last week and we couldn’t be more pleased to say that all of our students passed! Well done Alex, Teresa, Marta and Henrike. Great news!
Special mention to Henrike, who got an Advanced (C1) grade in her reading paper. Well done!
Everybody worked really hard in their classes and on the exam and we are so proud of them all! The speaking paper was a great success for everyone and hopefully this reflects the Communicative nature of our school. We always try to include as much communication and speaking as possible in our classes and social activities.
The reading paper was a little bit harder for our students and the commonest problem was TIMING. The Reading and Use of English paper are taken in the same session and you have to manage your time really well. With only 1 hour and 15 minutes to complete the paper, and 7 sections to do, that’s only about 10 minutes to do each section. This paper combined is worth 40% of the mark.
Watch out for the next blog post in which we will provide you with some tips for the reading part of the exam. Interested in an International Foundation Year so you can study at a university in the UK? If so, see our sister school’s NCUK London programme details.
