The success story of our Erasmus student
21/09/2015This year we had the pleasure of welcoming Belemir Yavuz to Communicate as our Erasmus exchange student under the ERASMUS Student Mobility for Placements Scheme.
On the way to Communicate
Belemir, a student at Balikesir University in Turkey, studied with us for three months. She attended General English classes every morning and worked as an intern in the office in the daytime.
In the reception
Belemir helped us initially with administrative tasks and office work in the afternoons and did a great job. As her confidence grew, she took on many more complex tasks such as helping newly arrived students with essential information; performing the new student induction, and showing students around the school and Manchester. Belemir also led several social activities.

Belemir also led an interesting life in her free time. She went away most weekends to places such as York and London (our partner school Malvern house offers English courses in London). Learning about British culture enabled Belemir to taste another side of life and grow as a person. Added to this she was able to meet people of varying nationalities and cultures in class and at school making her a truly international student!
